Report for week beginning 28 October

The week of 28 October provided some excellent fishing, with 20 salmon reported up to to 20lbs. Successful guests included Mr Landale with 2 salmon, Mr Parkin with 3 salmon, Mr Layburn with 1 salmon and Mr Truesdale with 2 salmon and a nice 8lb sea trout. The remaining fish were caught by the co-owners.

Two big autumn fish, returned. Approx 20lbs and 18lbs
Now that the water temperature has dropped, medium to fast sink tips should be deployed, together with dressed doubles or plastic/metal tubes, depending on the water height and speed. Succesful patterns include the Posh Tosh, Silver Stoat and Cascade.
The Tweed is experiencing a good run of particularly large fish this autumn, so make sure your cast is robust and well put together – we would recommend 15-20lb breaking strain minimum.
