Cardrona - before and now

View from the old Cardrona to Peebles 'back road' at the back of the pasture at Cardrona. The same view from 1985 and 2015.

A few fish

The water has been high over the last few weeks - this has limited fishing effort, although there are fish there to be caught if the time is put in. Below are some fish caught in the last couple of weeks. Prospects look good for the final week. We can but hope for a late flurry of fresh fish to arrive.

Update: Nov 2015

It's been an unprecedented and highly unusual year in terms of conditions - very low summer levels have persisted from June right into November. Despite that, fish have been present but fishing effort has been very low. Conditions have improved markedly in terms of water height, but we now have the opposite problem of too much water! Fish are present in good numbers, so if things do settle we should see catches improve in the last few weeks.

Some photos will be posted shortly........

First fish of 2015

Fen Howieson opened the Cardrona account today with a fantastic sea trout, conservatively estimated at 13lbs based on a measured length of 34". The fish was taken on a size 6 Silver Doctor from the Castlehaugh Cheek. Unfortunately we do not have any pictures of the fish.
