Update 18 October

We've had another 6 fish since the last report, two fish to Mr Bryce on 17 October and the rest caught by Iain Bain. We got a reasonable rise in water to 1'7" on Tuesday 17th October, which will have moved some new fish in and freshened the water a bit, though it has dropped in to under a foot today. There is a distinct lack of sea trout in the catches this year. Whilst there appears to be a lack of fresh silver fish throughout the Tweed system this year, it is important to remember that at this late time of the season, fresh fish will often  race through the lower/lower middle river and may not feature in catches until they slow down in the middle/upper river. As such, there is still the prospect of a late run of newer fish, even into November. A lack of catches of fresh in the lower river is not always a reliable indicator at this time of year, when the fish have their heads down and sat nav set for the middle and top of the river.......
